Keith George Asbury: A Lifetime in Music
With over 60 years experience performing and over 25+ years as a music venue owner, Keith George Asbury has played a vital role in the Texas hill country’s live music scene. From opening for icons like Merle Haggard, Billy Gibbons (The Moving Sidewalks), and Hank Williams Jr., to performing at historic venues and festivals such as Billy Bob’s Texas, Love Street Light Circus, and Snoopy’s, Keith has left his mark on generations of music lovers.
In the 1980s, his band Melrose, from East Texas placed 2nd in a nationwide Battle of the Bands competition in Nashville, further solidifying his place in the industry. A lifelong musician, Keith has performed across the country and continues to share his love for live music with audiences old and new.
James Keith Asbury: A Modern Songwriter with Timeless Influence
Growing up surrounded by music, James Keith Asbury began performing at his family’s venue, The Lazy Days Canteen & Starry Nights Amphitheater, and first took the stage in his father’s band, The River Rats, at 13 years old. Over the past 15 years, James has built his own reputation as an original artist, fronting the alternative rock band Nautical Nation and sharing the stage with legendary acts including Goo Goo Dolls, Red Clay Strays, Scott Stapp - Singer of Creed, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, Switchfoot, and Marcy Playground.
His solo work has taken him to major events such as SXSW at The Paramount Theater (Austin), Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater, San Jose MissionFest (SA), and San Marcos’ Summer in the Park, along with tours in the UK, France, and across the U.S. His debut album Dreamboat and subsequent releases, Golden Seas and Bird in a Cage, have showcased his versatility, drawing praise from Blue October Member Matt Noveskey for his genre-blending sound.
